Risk Contribution
In plain language
An asset may represent 10% of the portfolio but contribute 25% of the risk if it is highly volatile or correlated with the others. This metric shows who is really 'carrying' the risk in the portfolio.
Technical definition
Share of the portfolio's total volatility attributable to each asset, calculated taking into account weight, individual volatility and correlations with other components.
